Class Levels 

 


For your safety and the safety of your fellow students, please respect everyone’s path and attend only the level of class recommended:
 

All Levels:  Recommended for beginners.  Practitioners of all levels are welcome in this slower paced, inner directed class that welcomes and properly addresses the needs of the beginner while more advanced practitioners are provided deeper variations. 
 
Level 1:  Recommended for all beginners.  Slower-paced, static standing & seated postures with an emphasis on proper alignment, breathing and cultivating body awareness. We work on building a strong, stable foundation and begin the exploration into the philosophy of Yoga.
 
Level 1-2:  Intermediate Practice.  Strong, invigorating class that creates heat, opens and strengthens the body and challenges the mind. Recommended that you have a dedicated Yoga practice for a minimum of 3 - 6 months, but athletic beginners are welcome.
 
Level 2:  Intermediate to Advanced, not appropriate for beginners. Strong, moderately to fast paced practice for practitioners comfortable with basic alignment of postures.  Arm Balances, Inversions and deep backbends are introduced and explored.  
 
Level 2-3:  Not appropriate for beginners. Advanced class designed for students dedicated to a regular Yoga practice.  Arm balances, inversions, & deep backbends part of regular curriculum.  The intention of this class is to work at your own pace, honor limitations and work intelligently & skillfully with edges.

  
Class Descriptions
Yoga Therapeutics:  Recommended for beginners & those with physical injuries. Slower paced class emphasizes proper alignment & therapeutic applications of poses.  Serving people with physical injuries/limitations.  Must be able to move from floor to standing back to floor without assistance.  
 
Hatha / Heart of Yoga:   Recommended for beginners. Heart centered practice using slower-paced standing & seated postures combined with slower moving sequences emphasizing alignment, breathing, awareness, and honoring where you are in the moment. 
 
Soulful Flow:  Weaving breath with Sun Salutes (Surya Namaskar) into postures creating a tapestry of movement designed to release stress, open the body and clear the mind. Cultivating a continuous flow of awareness, intention and movement as a form of meditation
 
Divine Play:  Honoring a good attitude and proper alignment, students will playfully explore their yogic journey while building core strength.
 
Gentle Flow: Linking the breath with movement and alignment, this flowing class will build heat, increase strength, flexibility & calm the nervous system.  
 
Vinyasa:  Moment to moment connection to the highest.  Flowing practice builds heat, open, strengthen the body, challenge the mind & inspire the heart.
 
Yoga for the Back:  Therapeutic applications of poses to strengthen and lengthen back muscles, align the spine while creating space and relieving tension in the upper and lower back.  Intention is to maintain a spacious, healthy and strong back and is safe for anyone with non acute, moderate low back pain.
 
Restorative Yoga:  Gateway to deep relaxation and physical well-being; known to reduce stress related diseases by lowering blood pressure, regulating hormone levels, and enhance heart and vital organ functions. Revitalize your energy with this nurturing class.  Postures held longer with aid of props. 
 
Pilates:  Focuses on core strength, awareness and support of the spine, proper breathing, improving flexibility and agility, and helping to heal/prevent injury.
