LORI COTA

Yoga has been part of my life for nine years. It was through my own heart awakenings as a result of this practice that sparked my desire to share my passion for Yoga with others - to assist others to open to grace and connect with their compassion.  I completed my training at the Sundara Yoga College of Life in Encinitas where I also received my Reiki One certification.  My knowledge of the practice continues to deepen under the skillful teaching and guidance of Jeanne Stone. Invoking universal life force energy as a Yoga practitioner, teacher and aesthetician in my skin care business in Poway allows me to connect deeply with the inner stillness of my heart and to be of service to others.

DIANA SCHWAB

Diana L. Schwab has been practicing Yoga and meditation for eleven years. She has been teaching Astanga Vinyasa and Flow Yoga for nine years. Diana trained with Shiva Rea, Judith Lasater, Dana Paré, and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (who is the primary force behind the Ashtanga Yoga system using Vinyasa and Tristhana).

Since her graduation, Erin has been leading active Hatha, Prenatal and Mommy & Me classes in North County. Erin holds a Bachelors degree in History from Cal State San Marcos. She is a proud stay at home mother. A native San Diegan, Erin resides in Escondido with her wonderful husband Travis and beautiful daughter Arden.

SARAH HAUGHTON

Sarah Haughton, a certified RYT through Yoga Alliance, received her 200 hour training from Yoga to the People, New York City. Her yoga practice and teaching emphasizes the ability to find new strength and breath in every moment, both on and off the mat. Sarah discovered yoga as a teenager, and continued to return to the mat throughout her life, using yoga as a balance to rugby, kickboxing, running, and softball. Yoga was a huge tool for her in recovery from an ACL injury and surgery, and she has continued to explore the many ways that a consistent and dedicated yoga practice can heal and restructure both body and mind. Sarah views yoga as an opportunity to delight in the experience of the body and breath, to strengthen both body and mind, and to create community. A yoga practice should be fun and playful, where each student is met exactly where s/he is, and builds from there to where s/he desires to be. Belong to your own body again. Find your balance, freedom and strength. Acknowledge yourself as the maker of your dreams, and follow each one with full admiration and love for your self.

ERIN VANDENBERGH

Growing up in Chicago, I was a very active kid. I was a swimmer, volleyball player, runner and raced mountain bikes. In 2003 I started having severe back pain. Luckily, I work for a sports team and was able to utilize our trainers and team doctors. They informed me of some serious news, inevitably I would need back surgery due to a condition called Spondylolisthesis. It was time to have surgery or I may end up in a wheelchair so in October of 2004, I had an anterior/posterior fusion done on L5/S1. I was in physical therapy for two years after surgery, which only gave me temporary relief. Three years ago, my boyfriend introduced me to yoga. I was nervous about the wild asanas (poses) and twisting I would see in yoga magazines...saying to myself I can't do this kinda stuff. But after reading more about the benefits of yoga I went for it. I will try anything to help my back pain. After my first class, I haven’t been the same. Yoga gave me my quality of life back and I could not believe all the benefits this practice was giving me. I am more aware and mindful of my body throughout my day. When people ask me about yoga, I inform them that this is a lifestyle which takes discipline. I explain discipline as meaning love and devotion. Practicing or teaching the art and beauty of yoga is expressing and exploring the innerplay within ourselves through meditation and awareness. We are faced with many temptations and stresses; if we remain present and are able to pause and notice, we can make better decisions and react in a way that will benefit our being and others. I received my RYT-200 hour training at YogaWell in San Diego, CA. I'm certified in Pre/Postnatal and Hatha Fusion.
